About
Lean Six Sigma
Six Sigma is a data-driven approach to reducing variation and eliminating defects in business products, processes and services. Six Sigma was created at Motorola in the 1980s, where engineer and scientist Bill Smith first developed its underlying statistics and formulas to reduce defects by a measure of defects per million. (The term “Six Sigma” describes a target of 3.4 defects per million opportunities measured.)
Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma are used by thousands of companies around the world to improve process performance, putting it in high demand among professionals involved in all aspects of production and quality management. Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma certifications include Six Sigma – Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, and Master Black Belt. Each one draws on a vast body of knowledge and techniques that help graduates optimize their operations and unlock extraordinary growth potential for their businesses.
